Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 2 c
- snipped parsley - 1 tsp
- chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- diced celery - 1/4 c
- bay leaf, crushed - 1 item
- cayenne red pepper - 1/8 tsp
- hot, cooked rice - 3 c
- cleaned, cooked shrimp * - 2 c
How to make shrimp creole:
Cook and stir onion in butter until onion is tender. Stir in remaining ingredients except shrimp and rice. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 30 minutes. Stir in shrimp; heat thoroughly. Serve over rice.*From 1 1/2 pounds fresh shrimp (or frozen in shells), 2 packages (7 ounces each) frozen peeled, or 2 cans (4 1/2 or 5 ounces each) shrimp.
