Creole shrimp
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- water - 3 c
- chopped green pepper - 1/2 c
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- minced parsley - 1 tsp
- diced celery - 1/4 c
- dash of cayenne pepper - 1 item
- small shrimp - 2 c
- minced onions - 1/2 c
- bay leaf, crushed - 1 item
- pepper sauce - 1/4 tsp
How to make creole shrimp:
Cook onions in butter until yellow. Blend in other ingredients. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally until thickened (30 minutes). Stir in shrimp. May use cooked or uncooked, if uncooked just cook longer until they are done.Sometimes I use tomato sauce or if too thick, add more water.
Serve over rice or spaghetti.
