Ingredients/Components

  • large onions, chopped - 2 item
  • green pepper, chopped - 1 item
  • fresh mushrooms, sliced - 1 lb
  • tomato sauce
  • cayenne pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
  • sweet basil - 2 tsp
  • dash of Tabasco sauce - 1 item
  • peeled, cooked shrimp - 1 2
  • rice - 2 c
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • water - 4 c

How to make shrimp creole:

Saute first 3 ingredients in a deep skillet until tender. Add next 6 ingredients. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Cook remaining ingredients. Boil until liquid is absorbed (do not stir). Let set for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork. Either add the rice to the sauce and mix well or pour the sauce over each serving of rice.
