Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1 tsp
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- parsley flakes - 2 Tbsp
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- oil or butter - 2 Tbsp
- shrimp, cooked, peeled and deveined - 1 lb
- can diced Del Monte stewed tomatoes - 1 oz
How to make shrimp creole:
In large stir-fry skillet place oil or butter. Add onion, garlic, celery, tomatoes, tomato paste, water, parsley, sugar, salt and pepper. Cook on medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Add shrimp. Add cornstarch to 1/4 cup cold water and stir into mixture to thicken. Cook until thickened. Serve over steamed rice. Serves 4.Recipe categories: Seafood, Shellfish, Shrimp.
