Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1 c
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- chopped celery - 3/4 c
- oysters - 1 qt
- breadcrumbs cornbread and white bread - 3 qt
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- sage - 1 tsp
How to make oyster dressing:
Melt butter; add onion and celery and cook until tender. Drain oysters and reserve 1 cup liquid. Add oysters to butter, onion and celery; cook 10 minutes. Place breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and sage in a large bowl. Add oyster mixture and juice from oysters, as well as cooked juice from turkey or chicken (to get the consistency desired). Place the dressing in biscuit pans to cook (thin layer) at 325° until brown.Recipe categories: Side dish, Seafood, Shellfish.
