Scalloped carrots
Ingredients/Components
- sliced carrots - 4 c
- medium chopped onion optional - 1 item
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- cream of celery soup - 1 c
- melted butter - 1/3 c
- bread cubes - 3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- grated cheese - 1/2 c
How to make scalloped carrots:
Cook carrots in boiling salt water; drain. Meanwhile cook onions in 3 tablespoons butter until soft. Stir in soup, salt, pepper, cheese and carrots. Put in a greased casserole. Toss bread cubes with 1/3 cup butter. Spoon over carrots. Bake at 350° approximately 20 minutes. Yield: 6 servings.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetables, Carrots.
