Ingredients/Components

  • butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • salad oil - 1/4 c
  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • can salmon, drained and flaked - 1 lb
  • crushed potato chips - 1 c

How to make salmon burgers:

Melt butter or margarine in a heavy skillet. Add chopped onion and cook over medium heat until tender. Remove from heat and place in a mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup potato chips, egg, salt and salmon. Mix well. Shape mixture into six patties. Coat with remaining potato chips.

Heat oil in a skillet. Add patties; fry on one side until golden brown, turn and fry on the other side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve on toasted hamburger buns. Serves 6.
