Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 4 item
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- nutmeg - 1 item
- cayenne - 1 item
- Swiss cheese, sliced - 1/2 lb
- bacon, sliced - 3/4 lb
- pastry, single crust - 1 item
How to make quiche lorraine:
Line a 9-inch pan with pastry. Cover with cheese. Fry bacon until crisp, crumble and arrange on top of cheese. Beat eggs with flour, salt, cayenne and nutmeg. Add milk and melted butter. Pour custard over bacon and cheese. Bake in 375° oven for 40 minutes, until set. Cut into wedges. Serve warm as an hors d'oeuvre.Recipe categories: Breakfast, Main dish, Savory pies.
