Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/4 c
- paprika - 1/2 tsp
- garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- potato flakes - 1/4 c
- wheat germ - 1/4 c
- broiler-fryer, cut up and skinned - 1 item
How to make oven fried chicken:
Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper; let stand 1/2 hour. Dip chicken in buttermilk and shake in plastic bag filled with wheat germ, mashed potato flakes, garlic powder and paprika. Place chicken in baking dish sprayed with Pam. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until chicken is brown and tender. Serves 4.Per serving: 166 calories. Exchanges: 3 meats, 1/2 bread, 24 g protein, 4 g fat and 9 g carbohydrate.
