Mom's meat loaf
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 3/4 c
- finely crushed saltines - 2/3 c
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- rubbed sage - 1/2 tsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- ground beef
- ketchup
- packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
How to make mom's meat loaf:
Sauce:1 c. ketchup1/2 c. packed brown sugar1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce In a large bowl, beat eggs. Add milk, saltines, onion, salt, pepper and sage. Add beef and mix well. Shape into an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch loaf in an ungreased shallow baking pan.Combine sauce ingredients. Spread 3/4 cup of the sauce over meat loaf. Bake at 350° for 60 to 65 minutes or until no pink remains. Drain. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with remaining sauce.
(Makes a very firm meat loaf and you may substitute all ground turkey or part ground turkey.)
