Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 2 item
  • milk - 3/4 c
  • finely crushed saltines - 2/3 c
  • onions - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • rubbed sage - 1/2 tsp
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • lean ground beef
  • ketchup - 1 c
  • packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp

How to make mom's meat loaf:

In large bowl, beat eggs. Add milk, saltines, onion, salt, sage and pepper. Add beef and mix well. Shape into an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch loaf in an ungreased shallow baking pan. Combine remaining ingredients. Spread 3/4 cup of this over meat loaf. Bake at 350° for 60 to 65 minutes until no pink remains. Drain. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with remaining sauce. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
