Shepherd's pie
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 item
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- water - 1/4 c
- beaten egg - 1 item
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- ground beef - 1 lb
- can tomato soup - 1 item
- shredded American cheese - 1 item
- green beans - 16 oz
- potatoes, peeled and quartered - 3 item
How to make shepherd's pie:
In covered pan, cook potatoes in salted water about 20 minutes. While potatoes are cooking, brown beef with onion and drain off fat. Add beans, soup, water, salt & pepper. Mix together, place in 2-quart casserole dish and set aside. When potatoes are done, mash while still hot, stir in egg and add enough milk to make fluffy. Season with salt & pepper and spread over meat mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.Recipe categories: Main dish, Meat, Beef.
