Greek style manicotti
Ingredients/Components
- large steak - 1 item
- box manicotti shells - 1 item
- large jar of garden style spaghetti sauce - 1 item
- diced onion - 1 item
- diced bell pepper - 1 item
- can mushrooms, drained - 1 item
- Grill steak and cut into bite size pieces
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- milk - 2 c
- slices of cheddar cheese - 4 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
How to make greek style manicotti:
Cook shells, drain and put aside. Grill steak and cut into bite size pieces. Mix spaghetti sauce and steak together, add vegetables if desired. Put manicotti shells in an oblong pan and stuff shells with meat mixture. (It's easier to slit shells length ways on the sides, put stuffing on bottom half of shell and cover with top half.)Cheesy White Sauce:4 Tbsp. all purpose flour4 Tbsp. butter2 c. milk4 slices of cheddar cheese1/4 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. pepper Melt butter in saucepan over low heat, blend in flour, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat, stir in milk, heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir one minute. Add cheddar cheese and stir until melted. Pour over shells, bake in oven at 350° for approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Serves 8 to 10.Recipe categories: < 60 mins, Main dish, Pasta, rice and grains.
