Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 4 c
  • salt - 1/2 c
  • water - 2 c
  • vinegar - 1 qt
  • onion slices - 1 item
  • medium cucumbers - 12 item
  • celery stalks - 2 item
  • dill heads - 8 item

How to make dill pickles:

Wash cucumbers; cut into 1-inch pieces, enough to fill 4-quart jars. Now to each jar, add 3 to 4 slices onion, 2 pieces of celery and 2 heads of dill. Dissolve sugar and salt in vinegar water. Bring to boil. Pour while still hot over cucumbers. Use in 30 days.
