Ingredients/Components
- vegetable oil - 1 item
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- prepared horseradish - 1 tsp
- seasoned salt - 1/2 tsp
- Old Bay seasoning - 1/2 tsp
- drops hot sauce - 2 item
- fine, dry bread crumbs - 3 Tbsp
- fresh crabmeat, drained and flaked - 1 lb
- garnishes: lemon rind and wedges, tomato slices, lettuce - 1 item
How to make crab cakes:
Combine first 8 ingredients; stir well. Stir in crabmeat and bread crumbs. Shape mixture into 6 patties. Pour oil to a depth of 2 inches into a Dutch oven; heat to 375°. Fry until patties are golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Garnish, if desired. Yields 6 servings.Recipe categories: Seafood, Shellfish, Crab.
