eggs - 2 item
vanilla - 1 tsp
flour
cocoa - 3/4 c
buttermilk - 1 c
baking soda - 1 Tbsp
pinch of salt - 1 item
hot water - 1 c
shortening Crisco - 1/2 c

How to make chocolate buttermilk cake:

Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix the baking soda in the buttermilk until it fizzes. Mix flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa. Add to shortening mixture alternately with buttermilk. Add water last. Bake at 350° for 30 to 45 minutes.
