Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- sifted flour
- large fryer - 1 item
How to make chicken and dumplings:
Completely cover chicken with water and simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Debone chicken. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening. Beat eggs; add milk. Turn out on board and knead until stiff. Roll out very thin and allow to dry for 1 to 2 hours. Cut into strips and drop in broth. Salt and pepper to taste.
