Wild rice casserole
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- vegetable oil - 3 Tbsp
- boiling water
- bay leaf - 1 item
- 4 oz
- ground beef - 3/4 lb
- onion, chopped - 3 Tbsp
- can chicken with rice soup - 1 3/4
- small can mushrooms with liquid - 1 item
- each: celery salt, garlic powder, pepper, onion salt and paprika - 1/4 tsp
How to make wild rice casserole:
Pour boiling water over rice and herbs. Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes. Place rice in a 2-quart casserole dish. Add soup, mushrooms and liquid, water and seasonings. Mix and set aside. Saute onion in oil until transparent. Add to casserole. Brown meat and add to rice mixture. Chill. When ready to bake, cover and bake at 325° for 30 to 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Side dish, Casseroles, Rice.
