  • Duncan Hines yellow cake mix with pudding - 1 item
  • Pour batter into two 9 x 13 baking pans so that cake will be thin; it is better to put wax paper in the bottom so you have something to turn it out with
  • milk - 1 c
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp

How to make twinkie cake:

Mix cake mix according to the package directions. Pour batter into two 9 x 13 baking pans so that cake will be thin; it is better to put wax paper in the bottom so you have something to turn it out with. Bake until brown, but don't overbake. When cake is cool, turn out onto a flat platter or baking sheet. Spread filling between layers.Filling:5 Tbsp. flour1 c. milk1 stick butter1/2 c. Crisco1 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla Cook flour and milk until thick, stirring constantly. Cool completely, really cold. Mix together in a bowl the butter, Crisco, sugar and vanilla. Add flour mixture; beat 15 minutes.
