Stuffed bell peppers
Ingredients/Components
- medium green peppers - 6 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- onion, chopped - 1/3 c
- can tomatoes - 1 (16
- long grain rice, cooked - 1/2 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- Cheddar cheese, shredded - 1 c
- slices bacon, halved - 3 item
- each: salt and pepper - 1/2 tsp
How to make stuffed bell peppers:
Cut off tops of washed green peppers; remove seeds and membrane. Precook peppers in boiling salted water for 5 minutes; drain. (For crisp peppers, omit precooking.) Brown meat with onion. Add salt and pepper. Stir in tomatoes, rice, water and Worcestershire sauce. Cover and simmer 15 minutes. Stuff bell peppers; place in baking dish. Bake in a 350° oven for 25 minutes.About 10 minutes before bell peppers are done, top with bacon and sprinkle with cheese. Cook until bacon is crisp. Makes 6 servings.
