Ingredients/Components
- box alum - 1/2 item
- lb sugar - 10 item
- lb cucumbers - 16 item
- gal apple cider vinegar - 1 item
- tbsp pickling spices; tied up in cloth - 2 item
How to make sweet pickles:
In 3 quart churn; soak cucumbers in water for 10 days. Then drain and slice. Soak overnight in alum water. Rinse off the alum. Soak overnight in pure vinegar. Then take out of vinegar, Don't rinse! Then layer cucumbers and sugar in churn and put spices in center. You can stir every once in a while to mix the spices.Recipe categories: American, Condiments, etc., Vegetables.
