  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • hamburger meat - 1 lb
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • can cream of celery soup - 1 item
  • cracker crumbs - 1/2 1
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • sliced squash - 2 lb
  • cheese Cheddar or American - 1/2 c

How to make squash casserole:

Slice squash and chop onion; put both in saucepan with enough water to cover vegetables. Boil until tender. Take 1 pound hamburger and brown in skillet with a little salt. Drain the grease from the meat and the water off the squash and onion. In separate bowl mash the squash and onion; add hamburger meat, soup and cheese. Add crackers and egg. Mix well; add salt and pepper to taste. Spoon into casserole dish and top with crushed crackers. Bake at 350° until cheese melts and casserole browns good.
