Ingredients/Components

  • melted margarine - 1/2 c
  • shredded sharp Cheddar cheese - 1 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • can cream of mushroom soup - 1 3/4
  • grated onion - 2 tsp
  • dry bread crumbs - 3/4 c
  • large eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • cooked mashed squash yellow - 3 c

How to make squash casserole:

Topping:1 c. dry bread crumbs2 Tbsp. melted margarine Topping: Toss dry bread crumbs in melted margarine.

Put mashed squash into mixing bowl. Add all other ingredients and stir to mix well. Grease casserole dish. Put this mixture into it. Add toping, cheese first, then buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 425° for 20 minutes. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
