Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/4 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • stick butter - 1/2 item
  • grated cheese - 1 c
  • bread crumbs - 1 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • onions, sliced - 2 item
  • squash fresh or frozen - 1 lb

How to make squash casserole:

Cook squash and onions in salted water until tender. Drain. Beat until light. Add remaining ingredients, reserving 1/3 of the cheese and bread crumbs for a topping. Pour into a buttered casserole dish and top with cheese and crumbs. Bake at 350°
