Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 1/2 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- chopped onion - 1/4 c
- celery - 1/4 c
- green peppers - 1/4 c
- large can tomatoes - 1 item
- box shrimp, washed and shelled* - 1 item
How to make shrimp creole:
* I also have used 2 small cans of canned shrimp.For Roux: Combine shortening and flour in iron skillet and cook and stir until dark brown. Add vegetables. Dump shrimp into roux and cook slowly. Dump in tomatoes, salt and pepper. Cook for about 20 to 30 minutes and serve over rice.
