- flour - 1 c
- shortening - 2 Tbsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- medium onion - 1 item
- green pepper - 1 item
- large can tomatoes - 1 item
- round steak, cut in strips - 1 item
How to make swiss steak:
In skillet, add shortening. Skillet must be hot. Flour steak strips. Brown on both sides, 1 to 2 minutes. In a 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan, add other ingredients. Cover and bake 3 hours at 300°. Stir often.Recipe categories: American, Main dish, North american.
