Shrimp creole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 tsp
- cooking oil - 2 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- chili powder - 1/2 1
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- chopped tomatoes - 2 3
- tomato sauce - 8 oz
- dash of Tabasco sauce - 1 item
- chopped bell pepper - 1/2 c
- clove chopped garlic - 1 item
- raw cleaned shrimp - 1 lb
How to make shrimp creole:
Cook onion, bell pepper, celery and garlic in hot oil until tender. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and all seasonings. Simmer, uncovered, 45 minutes. Mix cornstarch with 2 teaspoons water and use to thicken sauce. Add shrimp last and simmer, covered, until shrimp is cooked (about 5 minutes). Serve over hot rice.
