Ingredients/Components

  • pkg - 1 lb
  • sour cream - 1 pt
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
  • crushed cornflakes - 2 c
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 2 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • soup can milk - 1/2 item
  • stick melted margarine - 1 item

How to make potato casserole:

Melt margarine (save 3 tablespoons for cornflakes) and saute onion until tender. Mix potatoes, sauteed onion and butter. Pour into a large casserole dish. Combine soup, milk and sour cream. Pour over potatoes. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Melt reserved 3 tablespoons of butter. Add crushed cornflakes and stir until well coated. Spread over top of casserole. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes.
