Hash brown casserole
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 lb
- sour cream - 1 c
- melted margarine - 1/2 c
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 2 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- crushed corn flakes - 1 c
How to make hash brown casserole:
Saute onion in margarine until tender. Combine with soup and sour cream in bowl. Add potatoes, cheese, salt and pepper, stirring well. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Toss corn flakes with 1/4 cup melted margarine. Sprinkle over potato mixture. Bake 15 minutes longer. Serves 10 to 12.Note: Six to 8 medium potatoes (boiled, peeled and chopped) can be used instead of hash browns.
