Ingredients/Components

  • sour cream - 6 oz
  • salt - 1/3 tsp
  • melted butter - 1/3 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • crushed corn flakes - 2 c
  • minced onion - 1/2 c
  • cream of chicken soup - 1 c
  • frozen hash brown potatoes - 2 lb
  • grated American cheese

How to make potato casserole:

Topping:8 oz. grated American cheese2 c. crushed corn flakes1/4 c. melted butter Thaw potatoes enough to break apart. Spread in 3-quart baking dish. Mix butter, soup, cream, onion, salt and pepper. Pour over potatoes. Top with cheese, corn flakes and butter. (This can be mixed and frozen ahead of time.) Bake at 350° for 45 to 60 minutes. Feeds 15.
