Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/2 c
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/8 tsp
- yogurt or buttermilk - 1/4 c
- coarsely chopped, cored pears - 1 c
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
How to make pear bread:
Cream butter. Gradually beat in sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Combine dry ingredients; add to egg mixture alternately with yogurt or buttermilk. Stir in pears and vanilla extract. Pour into buttered 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.You can use your favorite spread or jam, or try this recipe for apple butter.
