Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- soda
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- light molasses - 1 c
- ground ginger - 1 tsp
- brown sugar white sugar will do - 1/2 c
How to make gingerbread:
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, then molasses. Mix well. Add dry ingredients which have been sifted together; mix in. Last, add the boiling water, very slowly, stirring constantly. Bake in a shallow greased pan for 35 to 40 minutes at 350°.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, < 60 mins.
