Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/3 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 4 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • egg yolks - 2 item
  • egg whites - 2 item
  • whipped cream - 1/2 c
  • ground nutmeg - 1 item
  • rum flavoring - 1/2 tsp

How to make egg nog:

Beat 1/3 cup sugar into egg yolks. Add salt. Stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture coats spoon. Cool. Beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add 3 tablespoons sugar, beating until it forms soft peaks. Add to custard and mix thoroughly. Add vanilla and rum flavoring. Chill 3 to 4 hours. Pour into punch bowl or cups. Dot with islands of whipped cream and dash with nutmeg.
