Ingredients/Components

  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • ginger - 1/4 tsp
  • eggs, lightly beaten - 2 item
  • sorghum molasses - 2 Tbsp
  • sugar I like brown - 3/4 c
  • whole canned milk or half and half

How to make cushaw pie:

Mix sugar, flour and spices. Stir into eggs. Add cushaw, molasses and milk. Stir well to blend. Pour into unbaked 9-inch crust. Bake at 425° for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350°. Bake 30 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown.
