Crunchy chicken casserole
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 1 Tbsp
- sliced almonds - 1/2 c
- butter or margarine, melted - 1 Tbsp
- chopped celery - 1 c
- chopped onions - 2 Tbsp
- crushed cornflakes - 1/2 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- mayonnaise - 3/4 c
- cooked rice
- can sliced water chestnuts, drained - 1 oz
- cubed cooked chicken - 2 c
- can condensed cream of chicken soup undiluted - 1 3/4
- sliced almonds optional - 1 item
How to make crunchy chicken casserole:
Saute celery in butter until tender; remove from heat and add next eight ingredients. Spoon into an ungreased 2 1/2-quart baking dish. Combine melted butter and cornflakes; sprinkle with almonds. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30 minutes. Yield: 6Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, Casseroles.
