Crunchy chicken casserole
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- sliced almonds - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
- chopped onions - 2 Tbsp
- crushed cornflakes - 1/2 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- mayonnaise - 3/4 c
- cubed, cooked chicken - 2 c
- cooked rice
- can sliced water chestnuts, drained - 1 item
How to make crunchy chicken casserole:
Saute celery in 1 tablespoon butter until tender. Remove from heat. Add chicken, rice, soup, mayonnaise, chestnuts, almonds, onions, salt and pepper. Spoon into 2 1/2-quart ungreased dish. Combine 1 tablespoon melted butter and cornflakes. Sprinkle on top. Bake, uncovered, 30 minutes at 350°.Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, Casseroles.
