Ingredients/Components

  • half and half cream - 1 pt
  • medium size onion, chopped fine - 1 item
  • each: hot and mild sausage - 1 pkg
  • deep dish pie shells or 3 9-inch regular pie shells - 2 item
  • grated cheese I use 1 c - 2 c
  • each: chopped green, red and yellow peppers - 1/4 1/2
  • to 8 large eggs, lightly beaten - 6 item

How to make country breakfast pie:

Cook sausage until done. Crumble and drain. Mix cheese and sausage and sprinkle into pie shells evenly. Lightly beat eggs in bowl and add remaining ingredients. Pour over sausage and cheese, being careful not to overflow.

Preheat oven to 375°. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool on rack 10 minutes. Slice and serve while still warm. Yields approximately 8 to 10 small slices or 6 large slices. Great recipe to use for a holiday, brunch or breakfast supper. Enjoy!

Note: No salt or pepper is needed in this recipe.
