Clam chowder
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/4 lb
- chopped celery - 1 c
- chopped onions - 1 c
- clam juice - 4 c
- half and half cream - 2 pt
- boiled potatoes - 2 c
- chopped clams - 12 oz
- flour to thicken saute - 1 item
- clam bouillon cubes - 2 item
- some salt pork - 1 item
How to make clam chowder:
Saute the onions and celery in the butter. Add the flour to thicken saute. Add the clam juice and cook slowly until thickened. Add the bouillon cubes, clams and potatoes. Throw in some salt pork. Cook all together until flavors are all blended. Remove the salt pork and then add the half and half cream. Heat just a few more minutes and serve.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Chowders, Clams.
