Chop suey
Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch - 1 item
- water - 1 c
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- onions, chopped - 1 c
- mushrooms - 1 c
- celery, chopped - 1 c
- green pepper optional - 1 item
- pork - 1/2 lb
- veal or beef - 1/2 lb
- Bead molasses Chinese browning - 1 Tbsp
- can Chinese mixed vegetables, rinsed 3 or 4 times - 1 item
How to make chop suey:
Cut meat in cubes; brown and add salt and pepper. Add celery, onions and green pepper. Cook until transparent; add water and molasses. Add mixed vegetables. When almost done, add mushrooms. Thicken with cornstarch. Serve on rice. Serves 4. Can be frozen. Cook rice when used.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Time to make, Main dish.
