Pepper steak
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- oil - 1/4 c
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- clove garlic - 1 item
- onions, chopped - 1 c
- celery, chopped - 1/2 c
- can tomatoes - 1 item
- green pepper chunks - 1 c
- steak, cut in 3-inch strips - 1 lb
- juice from can tomatoes - 1 item
How to make pepper steak:
Brown beef in hot oil; add garlic and cook for 5 minutes. Add soy sauce, salt and water. Cook for 45 minutes. Add vegetables; cook 10 to 15 minutes longer. Stir cornstarch and tomato juice together; add to mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, until it thickens. Add tomatoes and cook 5 minutes more. Serve over hot fluffy rice.
