Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 1/4 c
  • oil - 1/4 c
  • soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • clove garlic - 1 item
  • onions, chopped - 1 c
  • celery, chopped - 1/2 c
  • can tomatoes - 1 item
  • green pepper chunks - 1 c
  • steak, cut in 3-inch strips - 1 lb
  • juice from can tomatoes - 1 item

How to make pepper steak:

Brown beef in hot oil; add garlic and cook for 5 minutes. Add soy sauce, salt and water. Cook for 45 minutes. Add vegetables; cook 10 to 15 minutes longer. Stir cornstarch and tomato juice together; add to mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, until it thickens. Add tomatoes and cook 5 minutes more. Serve over hot fluffy rice. Serves 4.
