  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • butter - 1 Tbsp
  • oil - 2/3 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • diced rhubarb
  • sour milk or buttermilk - 1 c
  • Let stand while mixing batter

How to make rhubarb bread:

Sprinkle sugar over rhubarb. Let stand while mixing batter. Mix all together thoroughly. Add sugared rhubarb and chopped nuts. Mix well. Pour into pans and sprinkle with topping. Bake in a 325° oven for 50 to 60 minutes in 2 (9 x 5 x 3-inch) greased loaf pans.Topping:1/2 c. sugar1 tsp. cinnamon1 Tbsp. butter Mix with a fork and sprinkle over batter before baking.
