Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- oil - 2/3 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- diced rhubarb
- sour milk or buttermilk - 1 c
- Let stand while mixing batter
How to make rhubarb bread:
Sprinkle sugar over rhubarb. Let stand while mixing batter. Mix all together thoroughly. Add sugared rhubarb and chopped nuts. Mix well. Pour into pans and sprinkle with topping. Bake in a 325° oven for 50 to 60 minutes in 2 (9 x 5 x 3-inch) greased loaf pans.Topping:1/2 c. sugar1 tsp. cinnamon1 Tbsp. butter Mix with a fork and sprinkle over batter before baking.Recipe categories: < 4 hours, Breads, Weeknight.
