Chocolate cake roll
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 tsp
- vanilla - 2 Tbsp
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 3/4 c
- egg yolks - 4 item
- cocoa - 1/3 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- egg whites - 4 item
- cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
- Beat egg yolks for 5 minutes
How to make chocolate cake roll:
Mix egg whites, cream of tartar and sugar until peaks form, then set aside for later use. Beat egg yolks for 5 minutes. Blend in milk and vanilla and then add dry ingredients and mix at low speed until moistened. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed. Pour yolk mixture over egg whites and carefully fold in by hand until evenly blended. Pour onto jelly roll pan that has been greased and lightly floured. Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes. Roll up in clean dish towel that has been sprinkled with 10x sugar until cool.Filling For Chocolate Cake Roll:1 pkg. Dream Whip1/3 c. milk1 tsp. vanilla2 Tbsp. sugar Chill bowl and mixer beaters. Add milk and Dream Whip in chilled bowl; beat until stiff peaks form. Add sugar and vanilla. Blend together. When cake has cooled, unroll and spread filling. Roll back up and refrigerate.
