Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- water - 1 Tbsp
- all-purpose flour - 1/3 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- fine dry bread crumbs
- cube steaks - 4 to
- large eggs, beaten - 2 item
How to make chicken fried steak:
White Sauce Gravy:1 Tbsp. butter1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour1 c. milk1/4 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. pepper Combine flour, salt and pepper. Set aside. Combine eggs and water. Set aside. Dredge steaks in flour mixture. Dip in egg mixture and dredge in bread crumbs. Melt butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add cube steaks and fry 10 minutes, turning once. Top with White Sauce. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat. Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in salt and pepper. Yield: 1 cup. Makes 4 servings.Recipe categories: Meat, Beef, Steak.
