Ingredients/Components
- vegetable oil - 1/4 c
- all-purpose flour - 1/4 c
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- chopped cooked chicken - 2 c
- can tomatoes stewed - 1 oz
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
- or 3 cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- soy sauce - 1 tsp
- sugar - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- dashes hot sauce - 3 item
- hot cooked rice - 1 item
How to make chicken creole:
Heat vegetable oil in a heavy skillet until hot. Stir in 1/4 cup flour. Stir constantly until mixture is about the color of a copper penny, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat. Add pepper and onion; cook until tender (about 10 minutes), stirring constantly. Add chicken, tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, garlic, soy sauce, sugar, pepper, salt and hot sauce.
