Ingredients/Components

  • to 3 chickens, boiled and deboned - 2 item
  • cans asparagus or frozen broccoli - 2 item
  • can water chestnuts - 1 item
  • large can pimento - 1 item
  • large green pepper - 1 item
  • diced celery - 2 c
  • egg noodles, cooked as directed on pkg
  • Best Foods mayonnaise
  • cans cream of chicken soup - 2 item
  • cans cream of celery soup - 2 item
  • cream or milk - 1 c
  • Cheddar and/or Monterey Jack cheese - 3 4

How to make chicken casserole:

Sauce:2 c. Best Foods mayonnaise2 cans cream of chicken soup2 cans cream of celery soup1 c. cream or milk3 to 4 c. Cheddar and/or Monterey Jack cheese Saute the green pepper and celery. Mix the sauce ingredients. In a large baking pan, spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom to prevent sticking. Add a layer of noodles (save some for the top), thin layer of sauce, layer of chicken (use all the chicken), thin layer of sauce, use pimento, green pepper and celery, also diced water chestnuts should go in at this time. Spread the balance of the noodles, cheeses and top with balance of sauce. If you choose, you may top with a thin layer of bread crumbs or top with cheese. Bake at 350° until heated through and bubbly.
