Chicken and dumplings
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- oil - 1/4 c
- self-rising flour
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- cut-up stewing hen - 1 item
How to make chicken and dumplings:
Dumplings:2 c. self-rising flour1/2 tsp. salt1/4 c. oil1 c. milk Boil chicken until done. Remove from broth and debone.Make dough as for biscuits. Roll out on floured board and cut in small squares. Bring broth to rolling boil. Drop dough into broth. Boil covered, about 15 minutes, or until dough is done.
I sometimes add 1 can chicken broth.
