Chicken and dumplings
Ingredients/Components
- chicken - 2 3
- water - 8 10
- can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
- can cream of celery soup - 1 item
- to 8 pounds potatoes peeled and chopped - 1 tsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- parsley - 1 item
- chopped celery - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1 item
- Add water start with 8 cups, add additional water for desired thickness
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder
- milk - 1/2 c
- melted butter, margarine, or oil - 2 Tbsp
How to make chicken and dumplings:
In 12 quart dutch oven, cook chicken until pink is gone (about 10 to 15 minutes), and cut up. Add water (start with 8 cups, add additional water for desired thickness). Add remaining ingredients and let simmer for 30 minutes or so. Bring to a boil. Combine ingredients for dumplings in the order listed, and drop by teaspoonfuls into boiling broth. Cover, reduce heat to medium low, and cook 15 minutes.
