Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- ice water - 1/2 1
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- broth from chicken - 1 item
- Chicken, boiled and deboned - 1 item
How to make chicken and dumplings:
Blend flour, salt and shortening until mixture resembles corn meal. Slowly add cold water until it makes dough. Roll dough out and cut into squares. In large pot; add milk, butter, salt and pepper to broth. Bring to a slow boil. Lower heat and simmer. Add dough one at a time, don't stir, and push down with a spoon.
