  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • brown sugar - 2 c
  • butter - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • corn syrup - 1/2 c
  • popped popcorn - 6 qt

How to make caramel corn:

Melt butter. Stir in sugar, syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil without stirring for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in baking soda and vanilla. Gradually pour over popcorn; mix well. Spread into large shallow baking pans or cookie sheets. Bake in oven at 250° for 1 hour.
