Caramel corn



  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • brown sugar - 2 c
  • butter - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • corn syrup - 1/2 c
  • popped popcorn - 6 qt

How to make caramel corn:

Heat oven to 250°. Melt butter; stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil another 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat; stir in baking soda and vanilla. Gradually pour over popcorn. Mix well. Turn into 2 large shallow baking pans. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven; cool completely. Break apart and store in tightly covered container.
